Barry W. Agulnick
Barry W. Agulnick is a seasoned criminal defense attorney renowned for his trial skills and well known for his successes over more than 35 years. Barry is a graduate of Hunter College and earned his Juris Doctor at Brooklyn Law School. As an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County DA under Eugene Gold, Barry helped establish the first Homicide Bureau in Kings County.
Since leaving the District Attorney’s office Barry has successfully defended individuals charged with everything fom petit offenses to DWI to murder. Barry was chief counsel for numerous major labor unions in New York and in addition to his criminal defense practice continues to be a sought after criminal and administrative law consultant to union members, the media, and businesses.
During the course of Barry’s career, he has successfully handled inumerable high profile cases, appearing in virtually every single New York newspaper, the New York Times, USA Today and newspapers countrywide. He has had his profile featured in the New York Times, his cases have been reported on every major New York network, a movie, along with personal appearances on Court TV, Geraldo, and radio. He has also been included in several books written about high profile cases with which he was involved , and an entire chapter was dedicated to his creative approach to criminal defense in Loose Lips, a compilation of speeches. As a partner of Agulnick & Gogel, P.L.L.C. and counsel to Greenblatt & Agulnick, P.C., Barry continues to personally fight for the rights of his clients charged with crimes, ranging from . He has recently won an acquittal on a homicide charge relating to a DWI accident in New York, the first such acquittal in New York. He appears in both State and Federal Courts throughout the metropolitan area and is available as needed, seven days a week.
